INTRODUCTION
ORP’2008 is an international conference on occupational risk prevention. As in previous editions, ORP’2008 has a significant international backup through the American, Dutch, Finnish and Italian universities that participate in its organization, under the coordination of UPC, the Technical University of Catalonia.
The objective of ORP’2008 is to be an international forum for exchanging information on the most recent advances in methods, tools and projects in ergonomics, safety, hygiene, occupational medicine, psychosociology, prevention management and training, and to integrate these areas under the corporate social responsibility concepts.
ORP conferences are held every two years in Spain. This year it will be hold in
A Coruña from May 14th to 16th, in the Palexco conference venue. The
Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) will lead its scientific component, while
Grupo ADI will manage its business side, both with the institutional backup of
Xunta de Galicia (the autonomous government of the Galicia region).
Within this framework, ORP organizers wish to reward those professionals, companies or institutions showing outstanding results in the field of occupational risk prevention by means of debate, spreading and in-field application.

THE JURY
Holding the Presidence of ORP 2008 International Prize representing Spain is Mr. José Luís Méndez Romeu, Conselleiro de Presidencia, Administracións Públicas e Xustiza de la Xunta de Galicia, and representing
Chile is Mr. Javier Fuenzalida, Superintendent for Social Security of the Government of Chile.
Jury’s members will be outstanding representatives of academia and corporations working in the field of prevention. Their decisions will be final.

The highest award given to a company, organization or professional with an international activity in order to highlight an output committed to the spreading and application of the values of occupational risk prevention.

< ORP’2008 Public acknowledgements >
ORP’2008 will acknowledge:
‘Companies’ or ‘Professionals’
which, during the previous year, contributed outstandingly to the values of occupational risk prevention;
the ‘Best poster’
presented to ORP’2008 and spreading specific aspects of occupational risk prevention. A poster is a graphic material that presents, in a summarized way, a scientific undertaking, highlighting its conclusions. The submitted posters may be presented in one of conference venue’s area, and the best one will be awarded the above mentioned distinction;
the ‘Best paper’
presented to ORP’2008 and contributing to foster and spread the values of occupational risk prevention. Papers should be written within the subject areas of the Conference. All submitted papers will be assessed by the jury, and the best one will be given the above mentioned award;
