General Questions
| Where and when will the conference take place? |
It will be be held on November 24th, 25th, and 26th, 2009 in the Casapiedra Convention Center, in Santiago, Chile
|
| Who may attend? |
|
This is a scientific, technical, corporate, and professional conference on all fields related to Ergonomics and Occupational Risk Prevention, including such areas as industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, risk prevention training and education, occupational psychology and sociology, among other topics.
While anyone is free to attend the conference, it is primarily aimed at professionals in the field, and assumes a considerable level of expertise in the subject. Graduate students in relevant fields are also encouraged to attend.

| How much does it cost to attend? |
|
The ORP 2009 Conference is free of charge for all conference activities, including the plenary sessions and paper presentations. Travel and lodging expenses will be assumed by the participants.
Authors wishing to present papers are automatically considered conference participants. Each participant must arrange his or her travel and accommodations in advance.

| Is there a limit to number of participants per company organization? |
No. There is no limit on companies and institution as to number of conference participants. The only requirement for participation is prior online registration.

Is there financial aid available for conference attendance? |
|
No. Conference attendance is free of charge. |
|
I am a student. May I attend? |
|
Yes. However students must be studying in a related academic field, as conference attendance assumes considerable expertise in the subject matter.
|
| I represent an organization that is not affiliated with ACHS. May I attend? |
Yes. Anyone may attend provided he or she completes the online registration.

| What is the Registration Procedure? |
|

On homepage, click on Registration (on left- hand side), fill out registration form, and click
SEND. You may later check to confirm that your name appears on the list of
participants. |

| What is the Time Limit for Presentations? |
|
15 minutes maximum.
|
| What is the Correct Format for Presentations? |
|
Presentations must be in PowerPoint format. There is no specific format required. Presentations may include images and music.
We recommend saving the presentation on a disk and pen drive.
|
| When and where do I present my paper? |
|
Presentations will begin on November 25th, from 3:00pm on, in Casapiedra.

Attendance and Participation
| Will a certificate be awarded for attending ORP conference? |
|
Yes. All participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
|
| Is Lunch Provided? |
|
No. While coffee and snacks will be available throughout the conference, lunch will not be provided. Lunch break will be from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
|
| Do I need to register for each of the workshops I wish to attend? |
|
In general, discussions, workshops, and lectures do not require prior registration to attend. However, company visits will require prior online registration. Visits will take place on Tuesday, November 24th, in the morning.

Hotels
| Which is the official hotel for the event? |
|
The Sheraton Santiago. The hotel will be offering special rates to all persons officially registered at the conference. The special rate will be $155 plus tax.
