The next edition:

Having just proudly celebrated its 50-year anniversary, the Chilean Association of Safety (Asociación Chilena de Seguridad) is now looking to the challenges of the years ahead, and seeking new strategies to create safer and more healthy work environments.

We believe there is no better way to do this than by bringing together top world experts in occupational health and safety to share ideas and experiences. For this reason, we wish to formally announce the 9th International Conference on Occupational Risk Prevention (ORP 2011), to be held on November 9th, 10th, and 11th, in Santiago de Chile.

Our country is once again hosting this important event, in collaboration with the School of Industrial Engineering of Barcelona (ETSIEB) of Universitat Politècnica de Cataluña (UPC); University of Technology of Tampere (Finland); Delft University of Technology (Netherlands); the Università degli Studi di Milano (Italy); and the Center for Industrial Engineering and Management Systems of University of Central Florida.

This conference seeks to offer entrepreneurs, executives, professionals, researchers, and academics a forum in which to share experiences and network with the most renowned experts in ergonomics and occupational risk prevention.

This year´s conference will be the 9th ORP conference to be held since the first ORP Conference in 2000. All previous ORP conferences were held in cities throughout Spain. The 8th ORP Conference was held in May 2010 in Valencia, and had 1,605 participants from 40 countries. The conference included 56 plenary lectures, 36 workshops, 150 papers, and 105 posters.

As president of the Organizing Committee, I cordially invite you to participate in this important conference to help define new strategies for meeting today´s challenges in occupational health and safety.
